The Order of Confirmation

This publication of the Order of Confirmation is the second official English translation of the liturgical texts for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is the first of the retranslated liturgical books expected to be promulgated in the next few years. This revision follows the request of the Holy See in 2002 to review and retranslate all the liturgical books. The guidelines provided in Liturgiam Authenticam ensure a translation that follows the original Latin text more closely so that its full meaning may be better appreciated. At the request of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, this new ritual book follows the content and structure of the Ordo Confirmationis. This is the “sole English-language translation that is approved for use in the Dioceses of Canada, beginning on the Solemnity of All Saints, November 1, 2016.”
